You’re the One

The streams rise up into the sky,
The birds swim in the waters,
The trees outgrow the concrete skyscrapers,
At the sound of your name.

The musicians play the drums
To the rhythm of your heartbeat
A song finds life
In the crease of your smile.

Like a feeble chirp from a hungry bird
Is enough to stir up its mother,
So is your voice enough
To melt my heart.

Your eyes tell a story beyond words;
I am drawn towards you.
You mean more to me than just a bond
That grows stronger as the clock ticks away;
You’re the one I want to be with
Till I breathe my last.

Just You

When we’re both ready,
Sufficiently, for each other,
Heavens would think it’s time
Like there couldn’t be another.
A time to let their story for us
Be declared complete;
A time they think it’s right
To watch it all happen;
Take a backseat.

A story I may not be able to enunciate,
But feel every moment like the last.
You are someone I never lost hope for,
Though terrifying in the past.
My fingers tuck the streaks of hair
That fall over your eyes, right behind your ears.
Your eyes would smile at me,
In a way that wasn’t meant just for your peers.

You understand me even before I say a word,
But you hear me out.
(It’s as if you could read my mind.)
Overwhelmed I am,
There’s nothing we couldn’t talk about.
I play your tunes on my strings;
How attentively you listen!
As if each song was your favourite;
You couldn’t think of another, then.

Your companionship sets me free
From all that I thought was once impossible.
It’s Just You I want,
I could never find anyone more loveable.
The Heavens are happy with what they created
When they see us looking up at the starlit sky.
It’s Just You I need,
Today, tomorrow and any day that could ever pass by.

As Much As You

It came as an answer,
It was revealed as fate.
That was her, my conscience told me.
I didn’t have a reason to hesitate.
So I did proceed.
As days went by,
I grew anxious.
But I didn’t pause to figure out why.

My mind wasn’t working
I was emotionally desperate.
Only an interaction did give me solace
Else I felt like a lonely silhouette.
I was obsessed.
She was in my thoughts
My dreams, my memories…
There wasn’t a time when I could breathe with ease.

She wasn’t before me,
But all I could see was her.
For once I wished
Time would go faster.
I wouldn’t call this a crush,
As all past crushes were erased
With memories of none but her
They were replaced.

I haven’t ever felt this way
And as much as I want to share it
I am afraid.
I wouldn’t want her hurt even a bit.
But I do hope
That someday she’ll surely know
What I am trying to show.
I hope she believes it’s true
When I say,
“I’ve never loved anyone as much as you.”
